In coming years, a government-supported practice (for any nation-state) may be the assiduous examination of the horoscopes of potential heads-of-state. This practice, among other standard methods of establishing a corporate fit, could help candidates see how their astrology would impact the state apparatus. This understanding would lead to the candidate’s development of more resilience and adaptability. It would help the several dimensions and challenges of establishing, directing and maintaining a government.

With that said, how did François Tombalbaye’s astrology impact Chad’s pre-colonial and post-colonial factions?

Tombalbaye inherited an already divided country. It was split geographically, tribally, religiously, and politically. What’s more, Lake Chad, was a water source of significance to Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon and, of course, Chad. But it had shrunk to 1/20th of its original size. The water supply was drying up due to natural earth changes and human demand. There were few industrially developed resources except cotton.

With the natural tendency of different groups to challenge a new central authority other than the French, President Tombalbaye concentrated power very quickly by outlawing all opposition parties. Chad’s sidereal Moon-Saturn square illustrates this very precisely. The two rule the Fourth and Tenth Houses, respectively.
