The African State’s Astrology Database is founded on independent searches conducted over a four-year period (2007-2011). Though I was aware of their existence, no astrological databases or fellow astrologers were consulted for input. I gathered the birth data for the then 54 countries at the time, from history books, newspapers CIA data and even eyewitness accounts of independence times. I did this from scratch. (There are presently 55 African states.)
The search for birth-times and the atmosphere in which each country’s birth occurred was extensive. Hours after countless midnights were tapped to cross-reference information and obtain measured confidence in my sources. I got help with my searches by diplomats from most of the African embassies in the United States; an Ambassador; employees at American foreign embassies; reference librarians from the Library of Congress; many hundreds of books, newspapers, CIA based Keesing’s World News Archives, to name some.
Even with over four years of delving into deep reservoirs of documents for African State’s Astrology Database, there are probably other times, which may be included as necessary preludes to public displays of independence. Other astrologers may have arrived at birth-times via rectification, which would certainly differ from the ones here. Many African countries, before statehood had sealed their freedom in closed sessions, then, only at the official independence ceremony, was freedom proclaimed. I have found evidence of this many times, of course, after the fact.
