Some notes on the Civil War

When the eastern region’s military governor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, took his stance on Biafra as a sovereign nation, it lighted the spark that started Nigeria’s civil war on 30 May 1967. General Yakubu Gowon, head of both the state and military government  of Nigeria, denied secession of the Ibo region. Not long after this a civil war was fought. It lasted three years and cost an estimated six hundred thousand lives.

The nationalist tendencies indicated by the Cancer Ascendant were set into motion. With Mars, the Red Planet, in Cancer on the horizon line, the need to master its emotional energies was paramount. A few aspects for this date (30 May 1967) were:

Prog. Mars, ruler 10th House, square natal Sun.
Prog. Moon, ruler 1st House, square natal Moon in the 8th House (mortality rate).
Prog. Moon in the 11th House (shared ideals).
Transiting Saturn, ruler Seventh House, conjunct Prog. MC. and Prog. Asc. opposed natal and Prog. Saturn in the 7th House.
Transiting Mars conjunct P Sun.
